NEW BLOG ENTRY! (Jul 22, 2008)
Onstage!
Despite erroneous threatening weather reports, our Southbury Green show went on under lovely skies and about 300 people showed up. It was great to sing with my brother and sister again, and Bert DeForest made some great video. Annie also helped me out at The Cantab Lounge in Cambridge, Mass. on Monday night, and we had 350 people show up for our concert (and free hot dogs) at Pomperaug Woods on 8/26. Thanks, Becky.
The Painted Pony (Main St. Bethlehem) has renovated itself! There is actually a stage now and John Kuhner and I will be playing some evenings there . Come see us ,Thursday, Sept. 18 7:30-10:30PM. Reservations suggested:(203) 266-5771

Willie on Youtube!
Due to the efforts of fellow Heritage-Villager Marvin Shapiro, my recent performance of "Mr. Cellophane" from the show Chicago is now available on youtube. Click here to check out the video. You can also log in to youtube (if you haven't already), register your comments and rate the video. Definitely something a little different for me. Let me know what you think.
Willie appears on Winter's Night compilation
12/20/04 - Rounder records has reissued the legendary On a Winter's Night compilation CD. Willie's song On a Winter's Night is the title track for the compilation. This new remastered version includes a number of new songs and artists not included in the original edition. Christine Lavin was instrumental in putting the recording together originally and in its new incarnation. The original record, first released 15 years ago, spawned the equally legendary Winter's Night concert tours which have continued throughout the years .
Among the artists on the disk in addition to Willie and Christine are Judy Collins, Patty Larkin, John Gorka, the late great Dave Van Ronk, Cliff Eberhart, Bill Morrisey, David Mallet and David Wilcox. You can purchase the CD at your local record store ( if you've got a good one) or click here to purchase and hear sound samples at Amazon.
A little something live from Passim
Here's a bit of a radio concert from a few years ago at Passim in Cambridge. A little talk and a live version of Freshman, a popular song from live shows that never quite made it onto a CD. Click here to listen. Apologies for the sound quality, which isn't perfect.
And if you got this far, you earned a free song. Download the song below on me. Hope you enjoy. And if you do, why not buy the CD? You can now buy it online by clicking on the image below or the link on the CD information page for this CD under discs. We'll have the rest of the CD's on line within a few weeks. (We've been saying that for a long time now and it hasn't quite happened, but its still the plan)

Download one on me right here
Here's a new one. Its a live version of what I call the Lone Ranger Meets the William Tell Overture. It will make sense when you listen. From Passim in Cambridge, same show as the clip above. Enjoy. Willie

Hello Blog! February 23, 2007
Hello Everybody. Willie here, sitting in my kitchen at my computer, wading through my website, trying to navigate the treacherous waters of modern technology towards the shore of online competentcy.
Pretty soon I will wander down the street and set up my sound system for another Friday night at the Olive Tree. I almost always enjoy myself there,(good place to try out new material), and you can't beat it for convenience. The "lounge" seats about 35 people and someone usually ends up onstage with me, singing or playing some kind of percussion instrument. When my Dad, Eugene was alive, I actually had enough time to wheel him in for the first set, and then, with the help of my friend Pete Burkhardt, get him back in the car, back home, into bed and back to the club in about 10 minutes. I miss that. Read More....
